Undergraduate and Postgraduate Scholarships for Cypriot Students, 2017-2018

The Ministry of Energy, Commerce, Industry and Tourism announces that it offers a number of scholarships totalling € 1,240,000 for undergraduate and postgraduate programs, including PhDs, for studies in hydrocarbon related industries. For master’s degree programs, studies should begin in the academic year 2017-2018, while for undergraduate and PhD programs and in any previous academic year.

The Ministry of Energy, Commerce, Industry and Tourism is responsible for the formulation and implementation of government policy on issues related to trade, industry, tourism and consumer protection in a way that contributes positively to further development the Cypriot economy and the level of living of the Cypriot people as a whole.

Course Level: Scholarships are available for pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate programme.

Study Subject: Related disciplines for undergraduate programs are defined in the fields of Engineering Petroleum / Hydrocarbons, Geology, Geophysics, Chemical Engineering and Chemistry. Relevant courses for postgraduate Master and Doctoral degree programs are defined by any branch related to Hydrocarbons, including Oil / Hydrocarbons, Geology, Geophysical Petroleum, Financial Hydrocarbons, Hydrocarbons and Legal Hydrocarbons.

Scholarship Award: The maximum amount of each scholarship is € 23,000 per year for postgraduate and doctoral programs, while for undergraduates the maximum amount of each scholarship is € 20,000 per year and will cover tuition fees and an amount for monthly maintenance allowance. Scholarships will only cover the required study time as defined by the curriculum description and not any delays or repetitions due to unsatisfactory student performance.

Scholarship can be taken in Cyprus

Eligibility: The selection criteria for undergraduate and postgraduate programs including PhDs are 80% academic and socioeconomic with 20% weight, and the condition is to secure a position without admission conditions in a relevant branch of a university institution.

Nationality: Students from Cyprus are eligible to apply.
