University of Auckland Health Research Doctoral Scholarships in New Zealand, 2016

The University of Auckland is awarding doctoral scholarships for domestic students and domestic-fee paying international students to study for a Doctorate in a health-related area. Up to three scholarships will be awarded annually to scholars enrolled full-time at the University of Auckland.

Applicants who have paid the fees or have arranged to pay the fees for the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy or the research component of another approved Doctorate are also eligible.

The scholarship will provide a tax-free stipend of up to $25,000 per annum plus compulsory domestic PhD fees and international student health insurance (if applicable), for up to 36 months. Part-time students shall be paid pro-rata for up to 72 months.

Eligibility: Up to three scholarships will be awarded annually to Scholars enrolled full-time at The University of Auckland and who have paid the fees or have arranged to pay the fees, for the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy or the research component of another approved Doctorate. Scholarships are tenable by domestic students and domestic-fee paying international students. Applicants must meet the eligibility criteria for registration for a doctorate as described in the statutes of the University and will need to have an appropriate research programme in a health-related area and provide evidence that it has been accepted by the proposed supervisor and the Head of the Department in which the research is to be carried out.

Scholarship Open for International Students: New Zealand and international students can apply for these doctoral scholarships.

Scholarship Description: The main purpose of the Scholarships is to encourage and support academically excellent students to study for a Doctorate in a health-related area. Selection will be based on academic merit (measured by the grade point average assessed over the applicant’s two most recent years of equivalent full-time study), quality of research proposal and endorsement by the proposed supervisor and host academic unit.
