Applications are invited for Van Gogh Program available to encourage and facilitate the exchange of French and Dutch researchers within the framework of a joint research project. All scientific disciplines can participate, but the fields are per request of French and Dutch sides the same and by the applicants sought complementary. Each year, the Van Gogh Programme supports about 150 researchers from France and the Netherlands. The maximum duration of a grant is two years. Applications should be submitted till June 15, 2014.

Course Level: Grants are available for Dutch researchers to visit their French colleagues and for French researchers to visit their Dutch colleagues.

Scholarship can be taken at: Netherlands (French researchers) and France (Dutch researchers) 

Eligibility: Van Gogh Fellows are outstanding researchers with excellent tenure track and international visibility. Among the proposed candidates include, among others, Veni, Vidi Vici , French and Dutch ERC grantees, Spinoza Prize winners, members of the Young Academy and their French counterparts.

Scholarship Open for International Students: Citizens of France and the Netherlands can apply for these travel grants.

Scholarship Description: The Van Gogh Program is a bilateral program financed. France and Netherlands From 2014, the program is administered by Nuffic. The Van Gogh Programme encourages the exchange of researchers within a research project and each year supports about 150 researchers from France and the Netherlands.

Duration of award(s): The maximum duration of a grant is two years. After the first year, an application for extension has to
be submitted together with a report on the first year.

What does it cover? Every year 15 to 20 research teams received a grant of € 1,500 to € 4,000. A grant consists of one or more scholarships for travel and accommodation. Van Gogh fellows may submit a follow-up request with their French colleagues do too. The maximum duration is two years. After the first year, one-year extension may be requested. The following conditions apply to Dutch applicants:
The grant is between € 1,500 and € 4,000 per research team per year.
The scholarships can only be used for travel and accommodation.
Travel costs: actual costs up to € 300 per person per round trip;
Subsistence: up to € 110 per person per day;
The cost of other members of the research team may also be covered.
Nuffic will pay the cost of Dutch researchers who travel to France.

Selection Criteria: All project proposals are in both countries evaluated by content experts. After a ranking of project proposals, bilateral donations to the jury awards. Only project proposals with the highest scores are eligible.

Notification: The results of the next round will be announced in October 2014 and starting the projects selected in January 2015.

How to Apply:
New applications: A researcher on the Dutch side submits a work plan and budget to Nuffic. Make sure that the researcher on the French side submits a similar application to the appropriate French organisation.
Application for an extension: A researcher on the Dutch side submits a work plan, a budget and a report on the first year, for a one-year extension of the French-Dutch cooperation to Nuffic. Make sure that the researcher on the French side submits a similar application to the appropriate French organisation. The request will be approved if the plan and budget are positively evaluated by both Nuffic and its French counterpart.

Scholarship Application Deadline: The next round of applications will start in February 2014 and will close on June 15, 2014. Continued Applications must be submitted by the end of September of the year following the award year.
