Victoria State Government Early Childhood Scholarships in Australia, 2017

Applications are invited for Early Childhood Scholarship to study in Australia. Australian citizen or permanent resident of Australia are eligible to apply for this scholarship.

The Department supports and provides a range of learning and development opportunities for Victorian children, young people, and adults.

Applicants must have been accepted into a course leading to an approved early childhood education qualification.

 Course Level: Scholarship is available to complete the following courses:

  • Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care
  • Diploma in School Age Education and Care
  • Early Childhood Teaching Degree
  • Graduate Diploma in Early Childhood Education
  • Postgraduate Qualification.

Study Subject: Scholarship is awarded in Early Childhood education.

Scholarship Award: The level of support offered and conditions of the scholarship vary by qualification type. See table below:

Early Childhood Teaching Degree Scholarship (up to $9,000-$12,000 based on stage of course completion)
Note: Students in final semester ineligible to apply.
2 years Early Childhood Teacher
Graduate Diploma in Early Childhood Education Scholarship
(up to $5,000)
Postgraduate Qualification Scholarship
(up to $5,000)

Scholarship can be taken in Australia

Eligibility: To apply for a scholarship, applicants must:

  • be an Australian citizen or permanent resident of Australia; and
  • have been accepted into a course leading to an approved early childhood education qualification; and
  • be employed in a Victorian licensed children’s or approved education and care service (this excludes Family Day Care); or
  • be a qualified primary school teacher; or
  • be employed in a Department-funded Supported Playgroup

Nationality: An Australian citizen or permanent resident of Australia are eligible to apply for this scholarship.

College Admission Requirement

Entrance Requirements: Applicants must have been accepted into a course leading to an approved early childhood education qualification.

How to Apply: To apply for this scholarship, you will need to:

  • Complete the Application Form available at the site.
  • Provide evidence that you are enrolled in one of the approved early childhood education courses listed above
  • If you are completing a Diploma course, provide evidence of your tuition fees in the form of a statement or letter from the training organization
  • Provide copies of academic transcripts or awards for all previous qualifications claimed on your application
  • Provide a copy of your current contract of employment or a recently signed and dated employer letter (no more than 2 months old)
  • Provide an Employer Form completed by your employer.
