The Wildlife Institute of India (WII) is a premier national autonomous Institute of the Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoE&F), Government of India in the field of teaching, training and research. The WII wishes to engage nine (09) research fellows [01 Research Associate (RA), 07 Junior Research Fellows (JRF) and 01 Technical Assistant (TA)] through a Walk-in-Interview on Tuesday, 29th September 2009. and the registrations of candidates will begin by 09:00 A.M. onwards.

(01 – RA)

Duration: Initially for a period of one year.

Essential QualificationPh.D degree in Zoology/Botany/Wildlife Sciences/Environmental Sciences/ Forestry/Experimental Biology/Biological Sciences/Life Sciences/Social Sciences from a recognized University. Those who have published their work in peer reviewed journals and shown evidence of capability to do independent research work will have a preference.
Desirable Qualification(1) Adequate experience from any reputed laboratory in using advance analytical techniques for plant, animal, soil and water samples.

(2) Experience in handling and maintenance of various laboratory analytical equipments (AAS, HPLC, UV-VIS Spectrophotometer etc.) and operational knowledge of various computer software(s).

Description of WorkThe work involves field visits and laboratory analysis for plant, animal, soil and water samples and also teaching advanced analytical techniques.
