Zoology Scholarships, 2018-2019

Zoology Scholarships provide wide scope to students for their career in industry, private business, Medical Laboratories and Wildlife Rehabilitation Centers etc. Zoology is a branch of science about the structure, development and classification of animals. Due to its complex nature, a specialization is required such as ichthyology for fish, herpetology for reptiles or ornithology for birds so it offers various career opportunities etc. There are many universities which offer financial aids to foreign students in pursuing their higher studies in Zoology. Hilldale Research Fellowships and Holstrom Environmental Zoology Scholarships
This fellowship is available for undergraduate students to encourage research in Zoology and other related areas at University of Winconsin-Madison. Around 105 fellowships and 5 scholarships are awarded each year to students. Applicants with minimum GPA of 3.2 are eligible to apply for fellowship or scholarship. Application deadline for applying is February 16, 2016.

Dr. Marvin Hensley Endowed Scholarship Fund in Zoology
The undergraduate award of this scholarship is for students who are majoring in Zoology. Its goal is to further the disciplines of zoological and biological science by providing financial support for students pursuing education in vertebrate zoology with an emphasis on field study. Selection of the recipient normally will be made in the spring of the year with the award being paid for the upcoming fall. One scholarship is awarded each year. The Application deadline is 15 March, 2016.

The Templeman Scholarship AT University of Kent, 2015-2016
University of Kent is offering scholarships for its graduate students. Students applying for the full time postgraduate degree level are eligible for the Zoology scholarships. The scholarship will cover tuition fees for up to one year and award will be made on the basis of performance. The application deadline is 22 April 2016.

NZ Plant Protection Society Research Scholarship in New Zealand
Victoria University of Wellington is offering Zoology scholarships in related disciplines. The NZ Plant Protection Society Research Scholarship aims in encouraging research and improving their methods. Each year one award of Up to $3000 is made on the basis of proposed research and academic record of the applicant. The deadline for applications is 1st October each year.

USA to Australia Zoology Fellowship
Each year, the American Australian Association awards individual Fellowships of up to US$40,000 for advanced study in the United States. Applicants research/study must be at the graduate level or above. The Fellowships are intended to support part of the costs of one year of research/study in Australia. The deadline for applications is 15 October each year.

Australia to US Fellowship in Zoology
Each year, the American Australian Association awards individual Fellowships of up to US$40,000 for advanced study in the United States. The Fellowships are intended to support part of the costs of 1 year of research/study in the US. The Fellowships build on existing strong social and economic partnerships and foster intellectual exchange between the United States and Australia. Applications will close on 15th April each year.

PhD Positions at IMPRS in Germany
The International Max Planck Research School (IMPRS) is inviting applications for PhD position. Applicants graduated from minimum 4-year study program with a comprehensive scientific thesis work in Zoology or related field are eligible to apply. The position is funded for three years along with travel and accommodation expenses. All students accepted to the program will be supported by stipends or contracts. Application deadline is 15th January.

London NERC DTP Fully Funded PhD Studentships
The London NERC DTP is offering 35 fully funded PhD Studentships for the 2015-2016 academic year. All studentships are open to students who qualify for NERC awards. These studentships are available to UK nationals and other EU nationals that have resided in the UK for three years prior to commencing the studentship. Students will be trained by 9 of the world leading research centres, which cover a huge range of the environmental sciences from those driven by contemporary environmental challenges to those exploring complex questions about the evolution of planet Earth. The application deadline is 11th January.

Ernst and Grace Matthaei Scholarship in Australia, 2015
University of Melbourne is inviting application for a research scholarship in the optical field. To be considered for this scholarship, student must undertake research related to optics, in particular study in genetics, botany, zoology, geology, microbiology or biochemistry and must meet the requirements for an Australian Postgraduate Award. Eligible candidates are selected on the basis of academic merit and other factors relevant to the proposed research, such as professional experience, refereed publications or specialist medical qualifications. The application deadline is 31 October.

Karl A. Stiles and James W. Butcher Award in Zoology
The Karl A. Stiles and James W. Butcher award to recognize outstanding undergraduate students and faculty in the Department of Zoology. Academic achievement is the foundation of this award, but demonstrated evidence of zoological accomplishment is considered. Applications must be submitted by 15th March.

Outstanding Academic Achievement and Promise in Zoology Award
This award recognizes two outstanding graduating seniors in the zoology program. Applicant must show an interest in the subject as a career and academic credentials to back it up.  The applicants will be judged on achievement, passion for zoology and a commitment to academic goals. The deadline for applications is March 15.

Zoology Scholarships at University of Roehampton
University of Roehampton is offering Zoology scholarships for undergraduate students in UK. Students must have applied for a full time bachelor’s degree in university. Four scholarships will be awarded to the selected candidates on the basis of grades scored in exams which will cover tuition fees of up to £8750. The application deadline is 15th January.
