Eligibility

  • Outstanding scientists and researchers in the relevant discipline of science or technology from a reputable university are eligible to apply for the NDPD.
  • Candidate must possess a PhD degree AND postdoctoral working experience. PhD degree must have been conferred at the point of the submission of application.
  • This is award is provided for research in the areas of Advanced Materials for Aerospace Applications, Bio-mimetic Aerodynamics, Cognitive Science and Neuro engineering, Cyber Security, High Power Laser Diode and High-Speed High Voltage Switching Devices.
  • International students can apply for this free education.
  • Outstanding scientists and researchers in the relevant discipline of science or technology from a reputable university are eligible to apply for the NDPD.

How to Apply

  • How to apply: To participate, applications should be sent via E-mail. Complete the forms included in the application package and provide the required documents in the relevant order.
  • Supporting Documents: To apply, pupils must be ready to submit the NDPD personal particulars form, Detailed curriculum vitae containing the following information: H-index, number of citations, all publications (indicate impact factor where possible), number of Masters/ PhD holders supervised, Certificates – Basic and postgraduate qualifications including detailed transcripts of grades/ scores (PDF format).
  • At least 3 recent international referee reports
  • Admission Requirements: To apply for the program applicants must have a previous degree.
  • Language Requirement: Applicants have a good working knowledge of both written and spoken English.

Benefit

The NDPD scheme provides selected young and promising scientists to conduct and lead research that is relevant to defense in Singapore/NTU. It offers:

  • Independence to pursue a research career in Singapore
  • A 2-year flexible research grant of up to S$1 million that commensurate with the scope of work
  • Possible conversion to a tenure-track appointment at the end of the NDPD.
