Scholarship Description: The Particle Physics group at KTH is strongly involved in the ATLAS experiment at CERN. The group consists of two faculty members and two graduate students involved in the discovery and subsequent measurements of the Higgs boson and in searches for Supersymmetry. We have made significant contributions to the design, construction and commissioning of the Liquid Argon calorimeter pre-sampler and are currently pursuing upgrade projects for the ATLAS forward calorimeters. The successful candidate is expected to play a leading role in the group’s analysis efforts in either the search for Supersymmetry or in the measurements of the Higgs boson. He or she will work closely to the graduate students.
