Kent University, School of Social Policy, Sociology and Social Research is offering 50th Anniversary PhD Scholarships for the academic year 2015-2016. The scholarship covers tuition fees at the postgraduate standard home/EU rate (£3,996) in addition to an annual maintenance stipend of £13,863 per annum (for entry in September/October 2015 only). -Successful candidates will have obtained a 1st or good 2.1 undergraduate degree in a relevant subject, and ordinarily an MA or MSc at Merit or Distinction level.
-Applications will only be considered if applicants have secured agreement from a member of staff in their area of interest to supervise them. Only one academic may be approached at a time (multiple simultaneous approaches will result in the application being rejected).
-Previous applicants (who are currently holding an offer of a place without funding for entry September 2015) may apply in this round, but please ensure that a revised School/50th Anniversary Scholarship application form is submitted. Please contact Kalli Glezakou for further guidance.
-An IELT score of 7.0 for non-UK students with a minimum of 6.5 in all components, as all PhD scholarship students are expected to have excellent communication skills.
