Undergraduate Scholarships: A complete list of undergraduate scholarships is as follows:

Kingshott Cassidy Poetry Scholarship Award of $7,169 for Australian and New Zealand students who completed at least 2 units of poetry courses and have demonstrated Financial Hardship.

Venerable Archdeacon Edward Leo Hayes Adult Undergraduate Scholarship of $3,000 to a mature-age student of not less than 25 years.

Global Leaders Scholarship includes $5000 tuition fee waiver to students from Hong Kong, Malaysia and Singapore studying an undergraduate program within the Faculty of Business, Economics and Law.

Edwin Munro Scholarship in Agricultural Science of $2,168 to an Australian and international student who has completed the Bachelor of Agricultural Science with honours.

Latin American Professional Internship Scholarship for students who reside in Latin America and excel academically to undertake an internship program at an international workplace and postgraduate study at UQ.

India -Australia BEL Excellence Scholarship includes 100% tuition fee waiver for up to 4 semesters to Indian Students within the Faculty of Business, Economics and Law.

3. Postgraduate Research Scholarships: A complete list of postgraduate research scholarships is as follows:

P. Singhal Visiting Scholarship of $6,000 to a resident in India to enable them to attend the University for a short period in order to further their research interests.

Brian Gray Scholarship Program of $15,000 to any Australian/New Zealand citizen or permanent resident, studying a topic of relevance to APRA.

Endeavour Foundation Endowment Challenge Fund of $5,000 for researchers and postgraduate students to undertake research into issues of key importance for the Australian disability sector.

Smart Allocation of Restoration Funds to Australian and international students to support PhD research as part of the broader project.

AINSE Postgraduate Research Award (PGRA) of $10,000 p.a. for suitably qualified persons wishing to undertake studies in AINSE’s field of interest for a higher degree at a member university of AINSE.

Boeing UQ Research Alliance PhD Scholarship of $14,150 to students who have successfully obtained an Australian Postgraduate Award (APA) Living Stipend.

UQ International Scholarship (UQI):

The UCI scholarships are awarded competitively, based on merit, to outstanding international students undertaking a research higher degree. These scholarships include tuition fees and a living allowance of $25,849 per annum (2015 rate), indexed annually. Students can apply at any time for admission to research higher degree programs. However, students who wish to be considered for a UQ Graduate School scholarship should note that the RHD Scholarship Selection Committee meets three times a year to select the recipients.

UQ Academic Scholarship Program:

These scholarships are available to high-achieving students who are completing Year 12 in 2014. The program aims to reward the achievements of outstanding school leavers and gap year students. These are categorized as follows:

UQ Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarships of $12,000 per year to applicants who achieve at the very top of the OP1 band (or ATAR equivalent) for a period of five years. These are available for both undergraduate and postgraduate study.

UQ Excellence Scholarships of $6,000 per year to applicants who have demonstrated outstanding academic, leadership and/or significant community service achievements during years 11-12 for a period of four years.

UQ Merit Scholarships of $6,000 per year to high achieving students (OP 1-3) who have demonstrated significant academic, leadership and/or community service will be considered.

Foundation Year Scholarships:

These merit-based scholarships are for selected countries for study in Foundation Year in the Standard and Express programs. These scholarships include a 50% remission of all academic fees and payable retrospectively upon successful completion of the Foundation Year and enrolment into undergraduate programs at The University of Queensland.
Application Deadline: 17th April for Semester 2 intake and 13th November for Semester 1 intake 2016.

UQ Summer Research Program:

All Summer Research scholars are eligible to apply for a scholarship for the duration of their research (between 6-10 weeks). This program is open to undergraduate students, including honours, who have completed at least one year of study at the time of application, and Masters by coursework students. The program is open to both undergraduate students from the University of Queensland as well as students from other international or Australian universities.

Sporting Scholarships:

UQ Sports Achievement Scholarship of $6,000 to outstanding new and continuing students who have demonstrated exceptional ability in their chosen sport.

Clem Jones Sporting Scholarship of $6,000 for a period of three years to encourage students with the academic ability to complete their intended program at The University of Queensland who can demonstrate the potential to perform at a high level in their chosen sport.

UQ Sport Scholarship Ambassador Program is valued at $1500 available to professional and/or elite athletes.

Other Scholarships:

The university also offers Student Exchange Scholarships and UQ Abroad Travel Grants and Young Scholars Program (YSP). These are as follows:

Student Exchange Scholarships and UQ Abroad Travel Grants: These are awarded on the basis of academic merit (cumulative GPA in current program and units completed) or to students attending strategic partner institutions. The Student Exchange Scholarships are worth $3,000 each and the UQ Abroad Travel Grants are worth $1,000 each. If students are applying for your first exchange with UQ Abroad, and they submit their application to UQ Abroad by the appropriate deadline they will be automatically considered for these scholarships.

University of Queensland’s Young Scholars Program (YSP): This program provides high achieving secondary school students with a unique and inspiring opportunity to discover, learn and engage with UQ’s academic community and like-minded students from across Queensland and New South Wales.

External Scholarships:

There are many organizations that fund scholarships to study at the University of Queensland. Some of these scholarships are as follows:

Menulog Scholarship of $1,500 to the student in their chosen field of study within Marketing, Business, Digital Design, IT or any internet business-related field.

Australian Defence Force (ADF) Scholarships include tuition Fees along with other benefits for undergraduate or graduate students studying an accredited degree at any recognised university in Australia.

Australian Agriculture Scholarship of $2,000 for a period of one year to pursue further education in an agriculture-related field.

Australia Awards Endeavour Scholarships and Fellowships Up to $272,500 for (PhD) and $140,500 (Masters) for the minimum period necessary for the individual to complete the academic program.

Don Perrin Environmental Bursary of $2,000 is offered to a different year 12 graduating student each year to be put towards the cost of study for the first year at University.

Aqua Vista Glass Physical Education Teaching Scholarship of $2,000 to students throughout Australia studying an education degree (undergraduate or postgraduate) with a focus on physical education.

ConocoPhillips SPIRIT Scholarship & Vacation Work provides significant financial support for tuition, as well as professional development opportunities for students during the final years of their studies. SPIRIT Scholars may also have the opportunity for up to 12 weeks of paid vacation employment at one of the Australian business locations, usually scheduled during the university summer break.

National Council of Women of Queensland (NCWQ) Bursaries of $1,000 each to assist Queensland women with their educational expenses and cover various fields of study and circumstances.

Far North Queensland Youth Assistance Fund up to $5000 for nominated youth up to 24 years of age to support, promote and encourage their artistic, educational or sporting potential.
