Canada: Destination for Education

Canada is a very big country that provides a healthy environment to international students for studies and makes them feel as if they are living in their home country. Canada has been ranked one of the best places for living and studying by the United States due to its excellence in the field of education and quality life. In Canada one can have wide choices for universities, colleges and technical institutes. A degree and diploma from Canadian universities or institutes is universally accepted. For international students the tuition fees is much lower in comparison to the other countries where English is the first language and as well as the cost of living is low there. In fields like software development, health sciences, law etc Canada is a world leader. Research is the integral part in the class room teaching in the Canadian universities/college. Students are mostly involved in the research work during their early graduate years. For 2011 session admissions are going on from the month of September 2010 till May 2011.
For pursing Master’s Degree in Canada international students need to have sixteen years of education and 15 years of education for postgraduate diploma .For PhD program a master’s degree is required. Canada has English and French as two native languages. An international student who doesn’t have English as a first language needs to pass English Language examination test in order to take admission to a degree program in Canada. Most of the universities accept TOEFL and IELTS scores in Canada and some conduct their own test for checking language ability. In case of French language institution, there is no standardized French language test that an international student needs to pass. French language ability will be checked either by case-by-case basis or by conducting a written test by universities.

Recently a new visa has been launched named as” Student Partners Program”. The new visa has simplified the documentation procedure and lessens down the processing timing. The number of students in the year 2010 going to Canada has increased due to this.
