2013 Scholarships for Ghanaian Students

This section of scholarship blog consist  lucrative scholarships exclusively for Ghanaian students, which will provide excellent financial inducements for students wishing to study undergraduate, graduate, postdoctoral programmes at universities in Ghana and abroad.

2013 Call for Research Proposals at University of Ghana
 Organization:  University of Ghana Research Fund (URF)
Subject:  UG will be able to fund projects that are capable of addressing pressing national and developmental issues and offer recommendations that would be relevant to policy makers and all stake holders.
Country: Ghana
Eligibility:   All grant applicants must be full-time faculty members of the University of Ghana. Faculty members applying in the investigator-led and multi-disciplinary categories should have at least a year’s service with the UG. Collaborators from institutions outside of UG must provide a letter of support from their institution.
Application Deadline: January  15, 2013.

Leverhulme-Royal Society Africa Award for Students from UK, Ghana and Tanzania 2013
 Organization:  The Leverhulme Trust
Subject:  Life and physical sciences including engineering.
Country: UK, Ghana and Tanzania
Eligibility:  Both the UK applicant and the Ghanaian/Tanzanian applicant must:
-have a PhD or have extensive experience at an equivalent level
-have a proven track record of training students at Master’s and Doctoral level

CAPREx Postdoctoral Research Fellowships for Ugandan and Ghanaian Students 2013
Organization:  Carnegie Corporation of New York
Subject:  biological sciences and engineering (for the University of Ghana) and social sciences and humanities (for Makerere University)
Country: Ghana, Uganda and UK
Eligibility:  Fellowships are open to all PhD-holding members of staff of the African partner universities in Ghana and Uganda. However, preference will be given to researchers who completed their PhDs less than 10 years ago (early career fellows), or 10 to 20 years ago (mid-career fellows). Part-time staff can be considered, if they provide evidence of being research active. They should be interested in focusing on a research career long-term.

2013 BU Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarships at Bournemouth University in UK
Organization:  Bournemouth University
Subject:  Any of the courses offered by the university.

Eligibility:  -Students resident in the following countries at the time of application who are classified as ‘overseas’ for fee purposes are eligible to apply.
-Applicant must be able to demonstrate an exceptional academic profile (equivalent to UK 1st Class Honours degree as assessed by NARIC)

Eligibility:  -For MS admission: A 16 years degree in the relevant field from an accredited educational institution with first division (annual system) or CGPA 2.5/4.0 (semester system) with no third division or D grade throughout the academic career. or NTS GAT (General) with 50 % marks.

University of Groningen Talent Grant for Master’s Students in Netherlands
 Organization:  Faculty of Behavioural and Social Sciences, University of Groningen
Subject:  Psychology
Country: Netherlands
Eligibility:  Candidates who have been admitted to the MSc Psychology programme can be awarded a grant when they are not able to self-finance in full and are not eligible for other (full) funding.

2013 Commonwealth Shared Scholarships for Master’s Students from Developing Countries in UK
