South African College of Business Offering 67 Online Courses

South African College of Business (SACOB) is giving away 67 online courses for free. Inspired by the philosophy of the father of the nation, Nelson Mandela, the college aims to do greater social good.

In the spirit of celebrating the life of Nelson Mandela SACOB is offering 67 Bursaries in 67 Minutes Bursary Initiative under Mandela Day Bursary 2015.

Only South African residents are allowed to enter.

Starting from August 24, 2015, all courses will be open for access. The duration of all the courses is 10 weeks. Available to anyone, these courses can help students strengthen their skills and boost their employability factor.

In order to be eligible for the bursary, the candidates are required to complete the online application form and a motivation letter.

Applicants can log onto the SACOB website on July 18, 2015 from 10 AM to 11:07 AM. There will be a banner reading 67 Bursary. Candidates will get exactly 67 minutes to apply for the 67 Bursaries.

The 67 Bursaries are short courses such as Entrepreneurship, Taxation, Conference and event management, Human resource management, and Customer service and call center management.

While doing the online courses it is essential that the candidate should have a computer and an internet connection. The courses have regular interactive features and expect a candidate to actively participate. There are no other entry requirements as such. Once students avail the bursary they have access to all study materials, full access to the online classroom. Students can also access video lectures, quizzes; they can participate in the discussion forum consisting of instructors and other peers.

There is also a ‘Student Question and Answer Platform’ where students can make queries related to the course, course material and general information.

The students, upon successfully completing the course shall receive a SACOB Certificate of Completion.

SACOB is accredited by major accreditation agencies. It is the UMALUSI Education and Training Quality Assurance Partner.  It is accredited to the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), Chartered Financial Analyst, CompTIA, and Confederation of Tourism & Hospitality.

In order to provide quality training and education, it has industry collaboration with Cape Chamber,  Pastel Accounting, Pastel Payroll, and SACCI.

Its courses are registered with the Department of Higher Education and Training as a Private Further Education and Training College in terms of Section 31 (3) of the Further Education and Training College Act, 2006 (Act No. 16 0f 2006) and Regulation 12 (4) (b) of the Regulations for the Registration of Private Further Education and Training Colleges, 2007. The short courses are not only challenging, but also engaging and provide quality materials to the prospect. The purpose of the online courses is to bridge the geographical barrier and provide flexible learning opportunities.
