Each year, British Council awards IELTS scholarships for Indian students to study at any university in any country outside India that recognizes IELTS. Eight students will receive a scholarship awards to the value of Rs.3, 00,000 each. IELTS scholarships will be awarded for pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate programme in the 2014 academic year. Student must hold a valid Indian passport and be a resident of India and must have taken the IELTS test with the British Council recently. Application should be submitted till 30th June 2014.

Eligibility: To be eligible for the IELTS scholarship, you must:
-be a resident and citizen of India
-have taken the IELTS test with the British Council recently
-have a minimum overall IELTS band score of 6.0
-produce a valid letter of acceptance / offer letter from a recognised education institution that accepts IELTS as part of its admissions criteria
-begin an under graduate or post graduate programme outside India in the 2014 academic year.

Scholarship Description: The British Council IELTS Scholarship Award was launched with the objective of supporting Indian students intending to study in an English-speaking country. Most importantly, it is a commitment to realizing British Council’s aspiration of enabling young people to achieve their life goals.
Number of award(s): Eight IELTS scholarships will be awarded. Four scholarships are reserved for the best candidates going to US, UK, Australia or Canada and the balance four scholarships will be awarded under the open category for candidates going to any country.

What does it cover? The scholarships will award Eight IELTS candidates INR 300,000 each towards the cost of tuition fees.
Selection Criteria: The top 40 candidates will be shortlisted based on their IELTS test score and the response to Task A.
Notification: Applicants will receive a confirm email within two days after receiving their application .The shortlisted candidates will be acknowledged of their status via email July 1, 2014.
