The Centre for Anthropology and Mental Health Research in Action (CAMHRA) at SOAS University of London is happy to announce its Master’s scholarships for the academic year starting September 2024. These scholarships are designed to support individuals who may not typically pursue studies in anthropology or ethnographic methods due to existing time, financial, or social constraints.
This scholarship aims to recognize and support outstanding academic achievement among international students enrolling in master’s degree program at the SOAS University of London.

Eligibility

- Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded for the MA in Medical Anthropology and Mental Health or the MRes in Social Anthropology.
- Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- For the MA in Medical Anthropology and Mental Health:
- Hold a minimum 2:1 bachelor’s degree in Anthropology or related subject, OR in health sciences including medicine, psychology, nursing, or social work.
- Have a strong research project idea that utilizes ethnographic methods to understand an issue related to mental health.
- For the MRes in Social Anthropology:
- Hold a minimum 2:1 bachelor’s or master’s degree in Anthropology.
- Have a strong research project idea that utilizes ethnographic methods.
Preference may be given to:
- Candidates with lived experience of working in or accessing mental health care as a professional or service user.
- Candidates from underrepresented groups, including racialized and minoritized groups.
