Cowrie Foundation Scholarship in UK

The Cowrie Scholarship Foundation, in partnership with the University of Aberdeen, is offering two fully funded undergraduate scholarships for Black British students from low-income backgrounds. This award covers full tuition and provides a maintenance stipend of up to £8,000 annually.

Applicants must be Black British students from low-income households (£25,000 or less), have accepted a full-time undergraduate offer at the University of Aberdeen for 2025–2026, be assessed as a ‘home’ or ‘rest of UK’ student, and have applied for UK government financial support with consent to share their information.

  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, applicants must:

    • Identify as Black or Black British – Caribbean, Black or Black British – African, Mixed (White and Black Caribbean or White and Black African), or other Black background

    • Firmly accept an offer for a full-time undergraduate degree at the University of Aberdeen (2025-2026 entry)

    • Be assessed as a ‘home’ or ‘rest of UK’ student for tuition fee purposes

    • Have a household income of £25,000 or less

    • Apply for income-assessed UK government financial support (e.g., via SAAS or Student Finance England/Wales/Northern Ireland) and consent to share financial information with the University.
