HAW Hamburg is now accepting applications for the 2025 DAAD Prize, awarded to one outstanding international student for academic excellence and social or intercultural engagement. The prize is worth €1,000 and open to students in the later years of their Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, or recent graduates.

To be eligible for the DAAD Prize, applicants must be international students currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s (at least in the third year) or Master’s program (at least in the second year), or have recently graduated within the last three months. They must have obtained their higher education entrance qualification abroad or completed a Studienkolleg in Germany.

• Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be an international student enrolled at HAW Hamburg

  • Have obtained their higher education entrance qualification abroad or have completed Studienkolleg in Germany

  • Be in at least the 3rd year of a Bachelor’s program or 2nd year of a Master’s program, or have graduated within the last 3 months

  • Have a current average grade of 1.9 or better

  • Have been engaged in social, intercultural, or political volunteer work during their studies

  • Must not have previously received the DAAD Prize
