The School of Engineering and Informatics of University of Sussex is awarding up to nine PhD scholarships in the Department of Informatics. Scholarships are for either topic-specific projects or for research projects proposed by applicants. Projects proposed by applicants must fit within the areas of research in the School. Scholarships will normally include a three year stipend at standard postgraduate rates and fees. The application deadline is 23 February 2015.

The School of Engineering and Informatics invites applications for up to nine Doctoral Scholarships: four in the Department of Engineering and Design and five in the Department of Informatics. The scholarships are for either topic-specific projects or for research projects proposed by applicants. Projects proposed by applicants must fit within the areas of research in the School; applicants with interests that span both Departments are particularly welcome.

Number of award(s): The School of Engineering and Informatics invites applications for up to nine Doctoral Scholarships: four in the Department of Engineering and Design and five in the Department of Informatics.

Duration of award(s): Scholarships are awarded for a period of three years.

What does it cover? Scholarships will normally include a three year stipend at standard postgraduate rates (currently £13,863 per annum) and fees as follows: (a) for Home/EU applicants, full fees; (b) overseas applicants, a contribution of up to £12,000 towards overseas fees, depending on qualifications.

How to Apply: Applicants must make an online application for a PhD place and specify in the form that they wish to apply for a School Scholarship. Applicants for topic-specific Scholarship projects must include a file with a statement that explains their particular interest, knowledge and skills in relation to the chosen project. The file name format should be your surname plus “personal_statement”.
