Lund University’s Faculty of Engineering (LTH) is inviting applicants for aDoctoral Student Position in Chemical Engineering and Catalytic Materials. This exciting opportunity is part of the Wallenberg Initiative Materials Science for Sustainability (WISE), Sweden’s largest investment in materials science research.

Applicants must hold a second-cycle degree (Master’s or equivalent) in Chemical Engineering or a related field, including a specialized project of at least 30 credits at the second-cycle level. Strong English proficiency, hands-on experimental experience, and skills in material characterization techniques are required. Knowledge of Python, Matlab, or Labview is considered a merit.

Eligibility

  • Eligible Countries: All nationalities

  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded in Chemical Engineering or related areas offered by the Faculty of Engineering at Lund University.

  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, applicants must:

    • Hold a second-cycle qualification (Master’s degree or equivalent), or have at least 240 ECTS credits with 60 ECTS at second-cycle level.

    • Have completed a specialized project of at least 30 second-cycle credits in Chemical Engineering or a relevant subject.

    • Demonstrate strong oral and written proficiency in English.

    • Show research aptitude, independence, collaboration skills, and interest in experimental catalysis and materials science.

    • Have hands-on experience in analytical techniques (e.g., XPS, XAS, XRD, SEM/TEM), and knowledge of programming tools such as Python, Matlab, or Labview is advantageous.
