Eligibility

  • Eligible Countries: EU countries
  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded for the full-time taught MA in International Development or MA in International Peacebuilding, Security, and Development Practice.
  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:
  1. Demonstrated experience or engagement in community development, global development, or international peacebuilding in areas such as social justice, human rights, global citizenship education, volunteering, or campaigning.
  2. Must have achieved or will achieve in summer 2024, a 2.1 upper second-class honours undergraduate degree (or equivalent) as evidenced by official academic transcripts.
  3. Must be EU-status candidates living in Ireland or elsewhere and satisfy the eligibility criteria for the Master’s programme. Graduates from both national and international universities are welcome to apply, including those graduating in 2024.
  4. Must complete and submit a CV, a personal statement (500 words), and a short outline (400 words) of their proposed research topic by 1st September 2024.
  5. Must have received a firm or conditional offer of a place on either the MA in International Development or the MA in International Peacebuilding, Security, and Development Practice by 31st July 2024 to be considered for the bursary.
  6. Provision of two letters of academic reference (as part of the PAC.ie application).

Benefits

The total value of the bursary is €2,500, paid in two installments of €1,250. The recipient must be a registered student on a full-time taught Master’s programme at the time of payment of both installments. Failure to cover payment of course fees by 31st January 2025 will result in the suspension of the second payment until full fees (or balance thereof) have been paid.
