Established in 1975, ESA has 22 member countries and a staff of around 2,200 people globally as of 2022. Headquartered in Paris, ESA operates with an annual budget of €7.8 billion in 2024. The agency’s activities include human spaceflight, exploration missions to other planets like Mars, Earth observation, science, telecommunication, designing launch vehicles, and managing the Guiana Space Centre in French Guiana.

Eligibility
- Eligible Countries: Individuals from ESA Member States or ESA Associate Member States, including but not limited to Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Canada, and Slovenia.
- Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded in any subject offered by the university.
- Admissible Criteria: Applicants must fulfill the following criteria:
- Be SGAC members between the ages of 18 to 35 inclusive (up to the day of their 36th birthday) on 18 October 2024.
- Hold nationality or residence in an ESA Member State or ESA Associate Member State.
- Not be involved in organizing or judging the competition.
- Not receive support from any other source to attend SGC and IAC.

Benefits
The winner of the scholarship will receive an award to attend the following events:
- 22nd Space Generation Congress (SGC): 10th – 12th October, 2024
- 75th International Astronautical Congress (IAC): 14th – 18th October, 2024
The award includes provisions for travel, accommodation, visa, and registration for SGC and IAC, with a total scholarship amount of €2000.
