EU4Belarus Academic Scholarship Competition – SALT

The European Union invites Belarusian researchers and doctoral students at risk of persecution to apply for scholarships. Eligible candidates can receive funding between €5,580 and €18,600 to conduct research or internships at EU universities for up to 10 months.

Applicants for the EU4Belarus – SALT scholarship must be Belarusian researchers, lecturers, or doctoral students who have faced or are at risk of persecution due to their socio-political activities since 2020. They should provide documented evidence of repression by Belarusian authorities and must secure an invitation from a host institution within the EU. Additionally, doctoral students are required to confirm their active status at their respective universities.

Eligibility

    • Be a Belarusian researcher, lecturer, or doctoral student.

    • Provide evidence of persecution by Belarusian authorities.
    • Submit an academic resume, signed declaration, budget calculation for the internship or research, letter of invitation from the host institution in the EU, and a Financial Identification Form (FIF).
    • For doctoral students: Confirmation of active doctoral status from the university.

To participate in the competition, applicants must fill out a form and attach the required supporting documents, including evidence of persecution, an academic resume, a signed declaration, a budget calculation, a letter of invitation from the EU host institution, and for doctoral students, confirmation of active doctoral status.
