The University of Sydney invites applications for the Faculty of Engineering Research Scholarship for Americas, established to support talented PhD students from North and South America. This scholarship provides financial assistance to outstanding international students pursuing research within the Faculty of Engineering.

The scholarship is open to citizens of North or South America who hold a first-class honour’s degree or equivalent, have an unconditional offer of admission to study full-time PhD within the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Sydney, and are not recipients of other RTP scholarships.

  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, applicants must:

    • Be an international student from North or South America.

    • Have an unconditional offer of admission to study full-time in a PhD program within the Faculty of Engineering.

    • Hold a first-class honour’s degree or equivalent.

    • Withdraw applications for the University of Sydney Research Training Program (RTP) scholarships (including RTP Stipend or RTP Tuition Fee Offset).

Benefits

  • Stipend Allowance: Equivalent to the University of Sydney’s RTP stipend rate per annum (indexed annually on 1 January), for up to 3.5 years, subject to satisfactory academic performance (no extension possible).

  • Tuition Fees & SSAF: Coverage of academic course fees and the Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF) for up to 14 research periods, subject to satisfactory academic performance (no extension possible).
