Eligibility for the scholarship requires applicants to be enrolled in the Graduate School of Science and Technology, Gunma University from October 2026.   • Language Proficiency: Applicants must demonstrate adequate Japanese (JLPT N2 or above/equivalent) or English (CEFR B2 or higher/equivalent) ability.

  • For Doctoral Program Applicants: Must hold (or expect to hold by September 2026) a Master’s or professional degree, or its equivalent, with academic qualifications recognized by the Ministry of Education Japan.

  • For Master’s Program Applicants: Must hold (or expect to hold by September 2026) a Bachelor’s degree, or its equivalent, with academic qualifications recognized by the Ministry of Education Japan.

  • Applicants must demonstrate excellent academic records, research capability, and strong motivation to contribute to society through research.

How to Apply

• Applicants must submit the completed application form, academic transcripts, proof of language proficiency, copy of passport/ID, certificates of (prospective) graduation, recommendation letter from the Dean (or above), list of publications, and a detailed research proposal (1–2 pages for Master’s, 3–5 pages for Doctoral).

• Applications must be submitted by January 16, 2026.

• An online interview examination will be held in January 2026, including self-introduction, past research, and research plan presentation.
