The University of Canterbury is offering HMNZS Canterbury Scholarship for first-year undergraduate students.
Founded in 1873 by scholars from Oxford and Cambridge universities, Canterbury University moved to its current campus in Ilam in the 1970s, from what is now the Christchurch Arts centre precinct of heritage buildings.

- Applicants must be citizens of New Zealand or holders of New Zealand residence class visas. They must be completing a university entrance qualification in the Canterbury region in the year of application.
- The scholarship is tenable during full-time enrolment at the university in a recipient’s first year of study in a programme for an undergraduate degree.
