The Department of Psychology at the University of Waterloo is pleased to announce the I-O Graduate Student Conference Grants for 2025. These grants are designed to support first-year graduate students enrolled full-time in the Industrial/Organizational Psychology program who wish to participate in academic or research conferences.
Applicants must be full-time master’s or doctoral students in their first year of the Industrial/Organizational Psychology program at the University of Waterloo’s Faculty of Arts. They must submit an online application with a proposal, budget, and expected outcomes, and receive approval from their supervisor and the Associate Chair Graduate Affairs.

Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, applicants must:

Be full-time graduate students (master’s or doctoral level) enrolled in the Industrial/Organizational Psychology program in the Faculty of Arts.

Be in their first year of the graduate program.

Submit a short online application form detailing the conference proposal, budget, and expected outcomes.

Have their application approved by their supervisor and the Associate Chair Graduate Affairs (or designate).

Plan to use the grant for travel, accommodation, and/or conference registration fees.

Preferably attend one of the following: Academy of Management conference, Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology conference, or the Canadian Psychological Association conference.

Submit a travel claim post-conference as per University of Waterloo Policy 31.

Preference is given to students who have not previously received this grant.

How to Apply
Interested students must complete a short online application through the Department of Psychology. Applications will be reviewed by the Administrative Co-ordinator, Graduate Studies, and the final decision will be made by the Associate Chair Graduate Affairs.
