IJP Middle East Fellowships are open for the journalists in Germany for the academic year 2025. These fellowships are travel and work fellowship to spend a two-month period in Germany.
The aim of the fellowship is to enable young journalists to familiarize themselves with the political issues in Germany at an early stage of their career.

Eligibility

Eligible Countries: Applicants must be from Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, the Palestinian Territories, or Israel. German journalists may also apply to participate in an exchange with the Middle East.

Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded for professional development in journalism, including all areas of media reporting and editorial work.

Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following criteria:
• Be a young journalist from one of the eligible countries
• Submit a detailed CV with a passport photo
• Include a recommendation letter from their editor-in-chief or head of department, confirming journalistic work and granting a temporary leave of absence
• Provide work samples (optional)
• Have a very good command of English (German is an asset but not required)
