You must be an international student applying for a one-year, full-time taught master’s course (MSc, MA, LLM, or MDS) starting in September 2026 at Durham University. You should be self-funded, meet the course entry requirements, and not already have another scholarship or funding.

Eligibility

  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded for one-year, full-time, in-person taught MSc, MA, LLM, or MDS programmes. (MBA, MSW, and MA in Theology and Ministry are excluded.)
  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, applicants must:

  • Apply for an eligible postgraduate taught programme starting in September 2026 at Durham University.

  • Be classified as an overseas student for tuition fee purposes.

  • Be self-funded and not in receipt of other scholarships or financial awards from Durham or external institutions.

  • Meet or exceed the academic entry requirements for their chosen programme.

  • Complete and submit the Inspiring Excellence Postgraduate Scholarship Application Form.

How to Apply

  1. Apply for an eligible postgraduate programme via Durham’s Applicant Portal to obtain a valid Student ID.

  2. Complete and submit the Inspiring Excellence Postgraduate Scholarship Application Form.

  3. Applicants who are not successful in the first round will automatically be considered for the second round no need to reapply.

Application Deadline:

  • 1st Round: Midnight (GMT), 16 January 2026
  • 2nd Round: Midnight (GMT), 29 May 2026
