International Education Fund (IEF) Scholarships in USA

The University of Texas at Dallas is pleased to announce the International Education Fund (IEF) Scholarship for students participating in international education or study abroad programs. This scholarship aims to promote global learning by supporting students who wish to enhance their academic experience through international exposure. Award amounts vary from $500 to $5,000, depending on the program’s length and the applicant’s financial need.

To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must be full-time UT Dallas students enrolled in an approved international education program. Undergraduate students must have completed at least 12 credit hours and graduate students at least 9 credit hours at UT Dallas before the program start date. Students participating in international internships must be enrolled in at least one credit hour while abroad.

Eligibility

  • Eligible Countries: United States (UT Dallas enrolled students)
  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded for participation in any UT Dallas-approved international education or study abroad program.
  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, applicants must meet all the following criteria:
  • Must be enrolled full-time at UT Dallas at the time of application.

  • Must meet enrollment requirements of their specific program.

  • Students in international internships must be enrolled in at least 1 credit while abroad (0-credit courses are not eligible).

  • Undergraduate students must have completed at least 12 residential credit hours, and graduate students at least 9, by the program start date.

  • McDermott Scholars, Executive Division students of the Naveen Jindal School of Management, and international students studying in their home countries are not eligible.

  • National Merit Scholars and Terry Scholars may apply for semester or academic year exchange programs.

  • Students must comply with all Office of International Education regulations and policies.

How to Apply

Interested applicants must complete and submit the IEF Scholarship Application Form corresponding to their program term. The application includes program information, a narrative statement, and acknowledgement. Applications submitted to the wrong term may not be considered.

Application Deadlines:

  • Spring Break / Spring 2026: October 15, 2025

  • Maymester 2026: November 1, 2025

  • Summer / Late Maymester 2026: December 15, 2025

  • Fall 2026: March 15, 2026
