International Office DAAD STIBET Scholarships, Germany

The International Office at RWTH Aachen is pleased to announce the DAAD STIBET I Scholarship for 2026, designed to reward committed and academically strong international students. Interested candidates should apply online with all required documents.

Eligibility

  • Eligible Countries: All non-German nationalities
  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship is open to any field of study offered by RWTH Aachen University.
  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must:
  • Be enrolled as a degree-seeking student at RWTH for at least two semesters.

  • Continue studies through at least December 2026.

  • Have earned their university entrance qualification outside Germany.

  • Not hold German citizenship.

  • Remain in Germany for the full duration of the scholarship (no study abroad or internship abroad).

  • Not receive any other scholarship during the funding period.

  • Have a monthly gross income below €1,248 (income above €556 reduces the scholarship amount).

  • Show good to very good academic results.

  • Demonstrate intercultural competence with good German and English skills.

  • Provide documented evidence of outstanding engagement in at least two intercultural activities at RWTH (e.g., BeBuddy Program, student initiatives).

How to Apply

  • Required documents include:

    • Certificate of enrollment

    • CV

    • Current transcript with GPA

    • Passport copy and residence permit (if applicable)

    • Last three months’ bank statements (including joint accounts if married)

    • Proof of employment and pay slips if applicable

    • BAföG notification or rejection letter (if applicable)

    • Proof of intercultural engagement (minimum two activities)

    • Letter of recommendation from an RWTH professor

    • Academic advisor’s expert opinion on academic achievements

  • Only complete applications submitted by the deadline will be considered.

  • Applicants must notify the International Office immediately of any personal or financial changes.
