Eligibility

• Eligible Countries: Applicants from all nationalities are eligible to apply.
• Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded for a PhD in Economics, with a focus on Applied Microeconomics, particularly Labor Economics, Development Economics, Personnel Economics, and Organization Economics.
• Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:
• Hold an MPhil or Research Master’s degree in Economics, Econometrics, Mathematics, or Physics (preferred).
• Candidates with an MSc or MA degree must complete one year of courses at the graduate school (Tinbergen Institute or ERIM).
• Demonstrate excellent academic performance at both bachelor’s and master’s levels.
• Show interest and strong motivation for scientific research in a statement of purpose.
• Submit GRE test scores for all three sections (Verbal, Quantitative, and Analytical Writing). Candidates must score in the top 10% of the quantitative section; applicants with a Q score below 160 will not be considered.
• Have proficiency in English demonstrated by:
  • Holding a degree from an institution where English is the language of instruction, OR
  • Scoring at least 100 on TOEFL iBT or 7 on IELTS.
• Provide two academic reference letters (preferably from a thesis or research supervisor). Letters should be sent to [email protected].
