International PhD Position in Microbiota and CRC Treatment, Netherlands

Wageningen University & Research is offering a fully funded PhD position in the field of Microbiota and CRC Treatment. This opportunity is part of the GEM-CARE project, which investigates the potential of dietary fiber in mitigating chemotherapy side effects in colorectal cancer patients.

The scholarship is open to international applicants with an MSc in microbiology. Candidates must demonstrate expertise in anaerobic cultivation, continuous culturing, and DNA- and RNA-based technologies for studying microbial communities.

  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:
    • An excellent academic (MSc) record in microbiology.
    • Expertise in anaerobic cultivation, continuous culturing, and working with DNA- and RNA-based technologies to study microbial communities.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
    • Affinity with bioinformatics and statistical skills.
    • Willingness to be involved in teaching activities.
    • Minimum CEFR C2 level in English.
