International PhD Scholarship in Trauma and Emergency Nursing, Ireland

The UCD School of Nursing, Midwifery and Health Systems (SNMHS) and the UCD Centre for Interdisciplinary Research, Education, and Innovation in Health Systems (UCD IRIS) are providing a full-time PhD Scholarship with registration commencing in January 2025. This scholarship aims to advance knowledge and make a significant impact in the field of trauma and emergency nursing.

The PhD Scholarship in Trauma and Emergency Nursing at University College Dublin (UCD) is open to candidates worldwide with an academic background in health or social science. Applicants must have experience in research using quantitative, qualitative, or mixed methods. The successful candidate will receive a stipend of €22,000 per annum plus academic fees for a maximum of four full-time years.

  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded in trauma and emergency nursing offered by the university
  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:
  • An academic background in health or social science is preferred
  • Experience in research using quantitative, qualitative, and/or mixed methods research is required
  • The applicant must fulfil one of the following:
    • Obtained a minimum of an upper second-class degree in a relevant honours Bachelor’s degree
    • Obtained a Master’s degree in a relevant field
  • Health professionals currently working clinically and interested in transitioning to an academic role will be considered favorably
  • English language proficiency is required for non-native speakers
