Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded for a PhD in Mathematics with a focus on AI and Collective Intelligence in financial contexts
Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Hold a 1st or upper 2nd class UK Honours degree (or equivalent) and/or a Master’s degree in mathematics or a related subject.
  • Possess knowledge of big data research methods, credit scoring applications, deep learning algorithms, and machine learning methods.
  • Be willing to learn statistical methods and be proficient in one of the following programming languages: R, Python, Java, or C++.
  • For non-native English speakers, an IELTS score of at least 6.5 overall, with a minimum of 5.5 in each skills component, is required.

How to Apply

Applicants should apply through the Cardiff University online application portal for a Doctor of Philosophy in Mathematics with an entry point of October 2024. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an interview. Note that the studentship only covers UK tuition fees; international students must cover the fee gap to meet Cardiff’s international fee rate and living costs.
