Umeå University’s Department of Applied Physics and Electronics in Sweden is currently inviting applications for a postdoctoral scholarship focused on the project Deep Learning for Real-Time Perception.

  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded in any subject offered by the Department of Applied Physics and Electronics at Umeå University.
  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following criteria:
  • Completed a doctoral degree or a foreign degree deemed equivalent to a doctoral degree by the time of the scholarship decision.
  • Priority will be given to candidates who completed their doctoral degree no later than three years prior to the application. Special considerations will be given for reasons such as illness, parental leave, trade union appointments, military service, or other relevant circumstances.
  • A Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong background in Deep Learning, with expertise in areas such as computer vision, machine learning, or perception.
  • Solid programming skills in languages such as Python, including popular frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
  • Experience working with the entire data chain for machine learning systems, from databases to state-of-the-art models and training methods, to evaluation and compilation of experiment results.
  • Good oral and written skills in English.
  • Ability to conduct research independently and collaboratively in a research team.
