Applications are now open for The Washington Post Newsroom Summer Internship program for the year 2019. Interns must be a college junior, senior or graduate student enrolled in a degree program on Oct. 12, 2018. You must have had at least one professional news media job or internship. Foreign citizens are eligible to apply for this internship programme.

Field of Internship: Our interns report and write articles, edit copy, take photographs, shoot and edit video, create graphics and design on multiple platforms. We treat them as staff members during their employment.

Eligibility: You must be a college junior, senior or graduate student enrolled in a degree program on Oct. 12, 2018. You must have had at least one professional news media job or internship.

Foreign citizens can apply for internships. All work samples must be submitted in English. If selected, the necessary documentation for obtaining the proper U.S work visa must be provided.

Internship Open for International Students: Foreign citizens are eligible to apply for this internship programme.

Is this paid internship? Yes. It is our policy to pay everyone who works for us, including interns. For summer 2018, the salary was $750 per week.

Internship Description:Come be a reporter, photographer, videographer, multiplatform editor or producer, news or digital designer, graphics reporter or developer, or social media producer. Notification: Once your application is submitted, you will receive a notification that it has been received. All applicants will be notified of the selection committee’s decision. You will be notified of our decision on or before Nov. 30, 2018.

How to Apply: Complete the online application and attach all relevant materials, including résumé, work samples and autobiographical essay. All work submitted must be in English.
