University of Leeds is offering number of partial fees ITS scholarships to undertake full-time master’s study starting from September 2016. These scholarships are designed to provide exceptional opportunities to UK, EU and international students of outstanding ability, achievement and potential.
The Institute for Transport Studies is a free-standing academic department of the University of Leeds and part of the Faculty of Environment. The Institute’s primary purpose is to advance the understanding of transport activity, operations and use, and to develop skills and best practice among transport professionals and decision-makers.

Candidates must have IELTS (International English Language Testing System) 6.5 score with no less than 6.0 in each component skill.
Course Level: Scholarships are available for pursuing full-time masters programme (MSC).

Eligibility: Applicants must first hold an offer (conditional or unconditional) of an academic place on an ITS Masters programme for the academic year commencing September 2016, and be designated by the University as being of international fee status. All applications will be assessed on a competitive basis. A scholarship award cannot be deferred and will lapse if not accepted in September 2016.
Nationality: UK/EU, international students are eligible for these ITS scholarships.
Scholarship Description: ITS, the University of Leeds and other organisations administer a number of scholarships each year for UK, EU and international students. These range from partial course fee payment to full maintenance grants of up to £10,000 tax-free plus course fees. The following types of scholarships are awarded:
-International Transport Masters Scholarships: The scholarships will fund 50% of the tuition fees for two international students to undertake a full time Masters degree programme at ITS.
-UK/EU Transport Masters Scholarship: The scholarship will fund 50% of the tuition fees for a UK/EU student to undertake a full-time Masters degree programme at ITS.
What does it cover?
-International Transport Masters Scholarships: The scholarships provide a 50% tuition fee waiver for the 2016-17 academic year (equivalent to the value of £8500 for international students).
-UK/EU Transport Masters Scholarship: The scholarships provide a 50% tuition fee waiver for the 2016-17 academic year (equivalent to the value of £3250 for UK/EU students).
College Admission Requirement: Applicants must first hold an offer (conditional or unconditional) of an academic place on an ITS Masters programme for the academic year commencing September 2016.
English Language Requirement: Acceptable minimum qualifications include:
-IELTS (International English Language Testing System) an overall band of 6.5 with no less than 6.0 in each component skill
-TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) of 92 with no less than 21 in listening, 21 in reading, 23 in speaking and 22 in writing
-Pearson (Academic) of 64 overall with no less than 60 in any component
-Cambridge Advanced English (CAE) of 176 overall with no less than 169 in any component
-Trinity College Integrated Skills in English of a Pass in ISE II or above (if taken in the UK)

-degree certificate and academic transcripts
-evidence of English language proficiency
-scanned copies of any UK visa/permits applicant hold currently or have previously held if thet are applying as an international student
How to Apply: Applicants should submit the ITS scholarship form, including a statement of 500 words on how a Masters degree would enable them to make a difference to transportation (e.g in their country, region or area) and specifically to tackle a significant problem or issue.
