IZU PhD Scholarships for Training Academics in Turkey

Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University is pleased to announce the IZU PhD Scholarships for Training Academics for the academic session. This scholarship includes a generous monthly stipend of 40.000 TL, tuition coverage, health insurance, and accommodation with meals.

There are 15 scholarships available to outstanding candidates in the Natural and Social Sciences. It is designed to applicants from all nationalities who are seeking to pursue a doctoral program at the university. Eligible candidates must not be employed in any job and are required to engage full-time in the university’s educational, instructional, and research activities. Applicants must possess strong academic records, with a minimum CGPA of 3.00 out of 4.00 in their undergraduate studies and 3.50 out of 4.00 in their master’s degrees.

  • Admissible Criteria:
    • Applicants must apply to a doctoral program at IZU.
    • Applicants must not be employed in any job.
    • Applicants must participate full-time in the university’s educational, instructional, and research activities.
    • Applicants must have a minimum score of 80 on the ALES, 156 on the GRE, or 590 on the GMAT. International students are not required to submit any ALES, GRE, or GMAT scores, but these scores will be converted to ALES scores if provided.
    • Applicants must have a minimum CGPA of 3.00 out of 4.00 in their undergraduate degrees and 3.50 out of 4.00 in their master’s degrees.
    • For Turkish language programs, applicants must have a minimum score of 70 on the YDS/YÖKD?L or an internationally recognized foreign language score accepted by the ÖSYM. For fully or partially foreign language programs, a minimum score of 80 is required.

International candidates should submit their undergraduate and graduate transcripts, language certificate, ALES/GRE/GMAT score (if available), and a document or statement indicating they are not employed in Türkiye to the email address [email protected] by the end of office hours (17:00 – Istanbul time) on July 4, 2025.

  • The scholarship evaluation committee comprises two academics from IZU and one authorized member from ?limYayma Foundation.
