Eligibility

  • Eligible Countries: All nationalities are eligible to apply.
  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded for research focused on blood cancer properties and vulnerabilities, with the aim of advancing treatments for blood cancers.
  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, applicants must meet all the following criteria:
  • Degree: Applicants must hold a PhD, MD, DVM, or an equivalent degree.
  • Institutional Affiliation: Must be independent investigators affiliated with a non-profit institution at the time funding commences and for the duration of the award. Applications from non-academic facilities are not eligible.
  • Principal Investigator (PI):
    • Must be an independent investigator with more than 3 years in an independent faculty appointment.
    • Must have a significant track record in malignant hematology and/or blood cancer research, or have a Co-Principal Investigator who does.
  • Co-Principal Investigator (Co-PI):
    • Must be an established, independent investigator with more than 3 years in an independent faculty appointment.
    • Only one Co-PI is allowed, and they must contribute significantly to the research aims.

Application Process:

  • Pre-Application (LOI): Submit the Letter of Intent by September 18, 2024, via the LLS Research Portal.
  • Full Application: If invited, submit the full application by March 3, 2025, via the LLS Research Portal.

Postdocs, students, and trainees: For fellowships and externally-sponsored research training awards or opportunities, you must complete the Research Funding Application Approval (RFAA) Trainee PDF form, and submit it, along with a complete copy of the application, to Research Services at [email protected]. Trainees should not use RMS at this time.

Benefits

  • The program offers a total award of $750,000.00, allocated at $250,000 per year for three years.
  • Indirect costs are limited to 10% of the total award value.
