LSE Middle East Centre Emirates Masters Scholarship in UK, 2015

London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) is inviting applications for emirates masters scholarship available to students from Arab states who intend to focus their studies on the Middle East. The scholarship has a value of £30,000 which will cover full tuition fees with the remainder available to support living expenses in London. The scholars will also be affiliated to the Middle East Centre for the duration of their degree and will be encouraged to participate in the Centre’s research activities. The application deadline is 27 April 2015.

Eligibility:
-Applicants must be from the following countries: Algeria, Bahrain, Comoros, Djibouti, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Oman, Palestine (West Bank, East Jerusalem and Gaza), Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, UAE, Yemen.
-Students who pursued their undergraduate studies in the countries listed above (not necessarily their own) will be given priority.
-Applicants must intend to focus their studies on the Middle East (defined here as the countries listed above plus Turkey, Iran and Israel).

Scholarship Description: London School of Economics and Political ScienceThe LSE Middle East Centre Emirates Scholarship offers financial support from students from Arab states studying for a Master’s degree at LSE and who intend to focus their studies on the Middle East. The programme is funded by the Emirates Foundation. The scholarship has a value of £30,000 which will cover full tuition fees with the remainder available to support living expenses in London. Three scholarships will be offered each year. The scholars will also be affiliated to the Middle East Centre for the duration of their degree and will be encouraged to participate in the Centre’s research activities.

Number of award(s): Three scholarships will be offered each year.

Duration of award(s): The scholarship will cover the tuition fees for any one year full-time Master’s programme at LSE (taught or research).

What does it cover? The scholarship has a value of £30,000 which will cover full tuition fees with the remainder available to support living expenses in London.

Selection Criteria: The selection of successful candidates will be made based on: 1. Merit, 2. Need, 3. Career Plans. All three criteria will be given equal importance.

Notification: Selection for this scholarship will take place between May and July 2015 and they will notify the successful recipient(s) by the end of July 2015. If you have not heard from the Financial Support Office by the end of July 2015, you must assume your application has been unsuccessful. They will notify successful applicants only.

How to Apply:
-Apply for a taught Master’s programme at LSE: When you submit an application for admission to a taught masters programme, the Graduate Admissions Office will acknowledge your application and provide information about how to set up an LSE For You online account. This account will allow you to track the progress of your application for admission, and will provide you with access to the LSE Graduate Financial Support Application Form. You do not need to wait for an offer for admission to complete this form, and we recommend that you complete it as early as possible once your Graduate Online Tracker is available. You will only be considered for funding if you have an offer (conditional or unconditional), by 27 April 2015.
-Complete the LSE Graduate Financial Support ApplicationForm: If you complete the LSE Graduate Financial Support Application Form, you will also be considered for support from the LSE Graduate Support Scheme. Being unsuccessful with your application to the Graduate Support Scheme does not preclude you from being considered for other awards such as this one.
-Complete the LSE Middle East Centre Emirates Master’s Scholarship Form: Your application will be considered complete only when you have received an offer of admission to LSE (conditional or unconditional) and you have submitted both application forms (the LSE Graduate Financial Support Application Form and the LSE Middle East Centre Emirates Master’s Scholarship Form).
Note: To  be considered for this scholarship, you must have completed the 2015/16 LSE Graduate Financial Support Application form and received an offer of admission (conditional or unconditional) by 27 April 2015. You must complete Section G – Personal Statement.

Scholarship Application Deadline: The application deadline is 27 April 2015.
