The Ministry of Education (MOE), Taiwan, is offering the prestigious Taiwan Scholarship 2025 for Canadian students to study at leading universities in Taiwan! This scholarship program provides tuition support and a generous stipend for students pursuing undergraduate, master’s, or doctoral degrees.

To be eligible for the Scholarship, applicants must be Canadian citizens with strong academic performance and good moral character. They must not hold Taiwanese (R.O.C.) nationality, permanent residency, or be classified as overseas compatriot students. Applicants should not have previously enrolled in a Taiwanese institution for the same level of study or received the Taiwan Scholarship for a total of five years.

    • Not have previously enrolled in a Taiwanese educational institution for the same level of study.
    • Not be an exchange student at the time of receiving the scholarship.
    • Not have received the Taiwan Scholarship for a total of five years.
    • Not be a recipient of other scholarships from the Taiwan government or other Taiwanese institutions.

How to Apply

  • Application Method: Online at Taiwan Scholarship Application Portal or by mail to the Education Division, Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Vancouver.
  • Required Documents:
    1. 2025 Taiwan Scholarship Application Form
    2. Photocopy of passport or nationality certificate
    3. Highest-level diploma and transcript (authenticated by a Taiwan overseas office)
    4. Admission application proof from a Taiwanese university
    5. Two sealed letters of reference
    6. Language proficiency certificate (TOCFL Level 3 for Mandarin programs or TOEFL for English programs)
