The scholarship is open to Indonesian citizens or permanent residents who are able to dedicate themselves to the programfull-time. It provides a living stipend, tuition fees, and funding for research costs.

- Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded in any subject offered by Monash Indonesia.
- Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Must be an Indonesian citizen or permanent resident
- Must have an excellent research and/or academic track record
- Demonstrate a significant and impactful PhD proposal with clear aims, objectives, literature review, research methodology, expected outcomes, and list of outputs (apart from the PhD thesis)
- Show how the PhD and its outputs will advance Monash Indonesia’s research strategy and priorities
- Exhibit a transdisciplinary research focus and identify two potential supervisors within Monash Indonesia
- Provide evidence of a detailed research plan and budget, including PhD research timelines and a completion plan within 3.5 years, along with estimated research costs
- Show evidence of current research collaborations that can be supported in the doctoral program (e.g., datasets, capacity building programs).

To enter Monash University, students must satisfy particular academic, English language and age requirements.
Students must submit an online application with relevant information and documentation. Potential scholarship topics and discipline areas, and application methods will be advertised online two months before applications are due.
