Morningside College was founded in 1894 as a private, four-year, coeducational, liberal arts institution. Accredited by the Higher Learning Commission, Morningside College offers 60 undergraduate majors and pre-professional programs. Both U.S. News & World Report and the Princeton Review have ranked Morningside College as one of the best liberal arts colleges in the Midwest every year over the past decade. Morningside College is currently seeking international students looking to enroll in their undergraduate programs.

UNDERGRADUATE ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

  • Submit completed application(no fee required)
  • A minimum 2.5 GPA is required for admission
  • Submit final official high school transcript in its original language
  • Submit an official, certified English translation of final high school transcript. (The translation should include conversion of grades into U.S. grade equivalencies on a 4.0 scale)
  • Submit a TOEFL, ACT or SAT test score (TOEFL Internet Based 61, TOEFL paper 500 or IELTS 5.5)
  • Submit proof of high school graduation
  • Complete the online financial form

Morningside College provides financial assistance to qualified international students. International students are also eligible for academic-based scholarships and must live on-campus to receive these scholarships.

On point connects students with people and experiences that align with the students’ future plans. Finally, Morningside sets students on their way by providing resources and tools for students to land a job or head to grad school within six months of graduation.

CAMPUS LOCATION

Morningside College is located in the southeastern part of Sioux City. The 68-acre campus is adjacent to a city park, swimming pool, eating establishments, and is a short drive from major regional shopping centers. Sioux City is a river town and the Missouri River provides plenty of green space for parks, hiking and biking paths with great views.

ATHLETICS

Morningside College is an NAIA school and a member of the Great Plains Athletic Conference. Not only does Morningside offer 28 sports to take in as a spectator or participate in as an athlete, but they also have a tradition of excellence in each and every one of these sports. In the last two years, 15 teams have won GPAC Team Championships!

STUDENT LIFE  

More than 50 student organizations and clubs, spanning music, theater, politics, community service, mass communications, student government, campus ministries and more. Morningside offers leadership opportunities through student government or academic clubs. Students will enjoy a variety of events throughout the year, including comedians, live bands, sporting events, ice skating and movies.

HOUSING

Over 90% of full-time freshmen live in the residence halls. Morningside offers traditional and apartment style living, and residence halls provide wireless internet access, computer printing centers, cable, and kitchen facilities. Morningside College has a dining experience that offers plenty of healthy options and caters to individual student’s needs. Vegetarian, gluten-free, vegan, organic and other customized menus are available.
