Nnamdi Azikiwe Awards in Africa

Michigan State University (MSU) is inviting students to apply for Nnamdi Azikiwe Awards. The scholarship is open for the academic session 2025/2026.

The award is limited to African undergraduate or graduate students currently enrolled at Michigan State University (MSU). Applicants must be conducting research in Africa and return to MSU as registered students after their research is completed. Priority will be given to those in good academic standing with demonstrated financial need.

Eligibility

  • Eligible Countries: African countries
  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded for research conducted by students enrolled at MSU in any subject offered by the university.
  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:
    • Must be an African undergraduate or graduate student conducting research in Africa.
    • Must be enrolled in a degree-granting program at MSU.
    • Awardees must return to MSU as registered students after the completion of their research.
    • Priority is given to students in good academic standing with demonstrated financial need.
    • Applicants must complete any required MSU research training (e.g., IRB training).
    • Fellowship recipients must submit a 3-5 page report to the African Studies Center within one month of their return.
