Eligibility

  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded for a PhD in Greek and/or Latin Literature, with a focus on posthumanism and/or environmental criticism.

  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, applicants must:

    • Hold a Master’s degree in Latin and/or Ancient Greek literature or a closely related field

    • Demonstrate strong interest in posthumanist theory and/or the environmental humanities

    • Have excellent knowledge of Latin and/or Ancient Greek

    • Possess excellent oral and written English proficiency

    • Show reading competence in relevant modern languages (e.g., German, French, Italian), or willingness to acquire it

    • Be willing to relocate to Groningen, Netherlands

    • Submit a short research statement (750 words), a writing sample (max 6,000 words), academic transcripts, and references as part of the application

    • Be prepared to undertake limited teaching tasks (0.4 FTE over four years)
