The University of Twente is pleased to invite applications for PhD Position in Power of Personalization Revolutionizing Osteoarthritis Treatment. This position is part of the TopTreat consortium, focusing on developing and optimizing personalized care strategies for osteoarthritis patients. The successful candidate will contribute to advanced simulation modeling and health technology assessment, using clinical data and innovative diagnostic tools.

To be eligible for this PhD position, applicants must hold or be nearing completion of a master’s degree in a relevant quantitative field such as Health Economics, Econometrics, Data Science, Biomedical Engineering, Technical Medicine, Applied Mathematics, Biostatistics, or Computer Science. Strong programming skills in R or Python and experience in data analysis, modeling, and simulation are essential. Additional knowledge of machine learning or advanced simulation techniques like Agent-Based or Discrete Event Simulation is an advantage.

  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded in health technology, biomedical engineering, data science, or other relevant quantitative disciplines offered by the University of Twente

  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:

    • Hold (or be about to obtain) a Master’s degree in a relevant quantitative field such as Health Economics, Econometrics, Data Science, Biomedical Engineering, Technical Medicine, Applied Mathematics, Biostatistics, or Computer Science.

    • Demonstrate proficiency in R or Python and strong skills in data analysis, modeling, and simulation.

    • Knowledge of machine learning, Agent-Based Simulation, or Discrete Event Simulation is advantageous.

    • Exhibit excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset; English fluency is required, Dutch is a plus.

    • International applicants may need to provide proof of English proficiency (IELTS 6.5 / TOEFL iBT 90 / Cambridge CAE-C or CPE).
