The University of Basel is offering the Propelling Grant, a funding program designed to help researchers transform their discoveries into impactful start-ups. Participants gain access to an acceleration program, investor meetings, workshops, mentoring, and expert networks to bridge the gap between research and market.

Eligibility

  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: Funding is available for projects in any academic discipline offered by the University of Basel.

  • Admissible Criteria: Applicants must:

    • Have an active affiliation with the University of Basel (PhD candidates, Postdocs, Research Assistants, Professors, University Employees).

    • Maintain affiliation throughout the entire grant period.

    • Have a validated concept/technology or a first prototype.

    • Not be solely affiliated with the University Hospital Basel (USB) or University Children’s Hospital Basel (UKBB).

    • Proposals should not primarily fund basic research, experiments, or consumables.

  2. Propelling Grant Slide Deck (PPTX) following the provided template.

Submit both documents via the online application form (non-confidential information only). Applications are accepted year-round, with evaluations conducted twice annually (Spring and Fall).
