As a part of the ongoing research effort within petroleum engineering at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) a two-year senior researcher position is available within the Center for Energy Resources Engineering at the Department Mechanical Engineering. The scope of the work is to develop Rock Mechanics Model for Enhanced Oil Recovery.   Enhanced oil recovery depends on the properties of oil bearing rock formation. The goal of the present project is to develop a theoretical model for chalk that incorporates time-dependent mechanical deformation properties, permeability and porosity, and the depend-ence of these properties on time. The model should be implemented in numerical form and used to simulate the effects of eg chemical flooding and thermal treatment. The model will be based on existing data on the mechanical behavior of chalk, and an attempt will be made to develop a coherent model in which the extra effects are incorporated via suitable poten-tials and a maximum dissipation condition. Qualifications :
The ideal candidate has a M.Sc. and Ph.D.degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engi-neering or Physics as well as academic qualifications equivalent to those obtained by holding a post as Scientist or Post doc with documented experience in the following areas: degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engi-neering or Physics as well as academic qualifications equivalent to those obtained by holding a post as Scientist or Postdoc with documented experience in the following areas:
