To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must be female citizens from one of the 10 eligible countries: Bangladesh, Indonesia, Kenya, Malaysia, Nigeria, Philippines, Rwanda, South Africa, Thailand, or Vietnam. Candidates must apply and be admitted to a designated STEM-related master’s program in Sweden.

  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) programs
  • Admissible Criteria:
    • Must be a female citizen from one of the 10 eligible countries
    • Must be admitted to a designated master’s program in Sweden
    • Cannot have received a prior SI Scholarship or a degree from a Swedish university
    • Must meet the tuition fee requirement and apply for the master’s program through University Admissions

How to Apply

Apply for the master’s programme through universityadmissions.se.

When you have applied for one, or more, of the designated master’s programmes through University Admissions and fullfill all criteria, you are automatically considered for the scholarship.

  • 15 October 2025 – 15 January 2026: Apply to Swedish master’s programmes through University Admissions. 
  • Mid-November 2025: Pioneering Women in STEM application documents and eligible master’s programmes are published on this page.
  • 9-25 February 2026: The application portal for SI Scholarships is open for two weeks.
  • 26 March 2026: University admissions announcement.
  • 23 April 2026: SI Scholarship announcement.
