The University of Wisconsin–Madison is inviting candidates to apply for Sophomore Research Fellowships. The scholarship is designed for the academic session 2024/2025.

To be eligible, applicants must be undergraduate students at UW–Madison, either in their second year, first-year students with over 24 credits by May 2025, or transfer students in their first year at the university. They should maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.3 or higher and be in good academic and disciplinary standing.

After logging-in and filling out a general application, you will be presented with links to applications for scholarships for which you are eligible, with open application cycles. Applications should include a 3–5-page project proposal, an unofficial UW–Madison transcript, and a recommendation letter from the project advisor. Selection is based on the quality of the research proposal, collaboration with the faculty mentor, and project feasibility within the timeline.
